About El Dorado 

Located at the base of the Sierra Nevada Mountains, the highest in the lower 48, the El Dorado AVA boasts some of the highest elevation vineyards in California. In addition, the soils, derived from the regions proximity to the mountains, further distinguish the region from other parts of California.
